Nasdaq is now looking for an experienced employment lawyer/ Associate General Counsel with a European-wide focus to join our talented legal team. The position is located in Stockholm in the renovated former Ford assembly plant in Frihamnen, in our spacious and modern, open plan factory-style campus.



As an employment lawyer/ Associate General Counsel you will be responsible for supporting the European Human Resources team with their employment relations matters and ensuring that all employment policies and practices are designed and implemented to facilitate compliance with the requirements of the European jurisdictions in which we operate. Data privacy laws and compliance will be a significant focus of this role. The position will work in close collaboration with the company's global employment counsel in the US.



Key responsibilities:

* Representing the company in employment-related disputes and mediations
* Independently identifying and resolving legal risk on employment matters.
* Providing sound and pragmatic legal advice to internal clients, including HRBP's and senior management, regarding all aspects of the employment relationship.
* Advising and guiding regarding investigations and litigation matters, data privacy laws and issues.
* Assisting with works council and employee union negotiations; advising regarding collective bargaining agreements.
* Negotiating, drafting and reviewing employment documentation and contracts as well as internal policies and other HR related documents and then communicating and educating regarding changes in employment law.
* Supporting global business development efforts, due diligence, acquisitions, divestiture, and integration activities.

Education, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications:

* European law degree; admitted to practice law in one or more European jurisdictions.
* 7 years of progressive employment legal experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a publicly-traded company and/or within the financial services sector.

Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

* Experience with employment laws, works councils, and collective bargaining in Sweden and, preferably, familiarity with these matters in other European countries, such as Germany, France or the UK.
* Ability to collaborate as a team member in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
* Ability to independently manage drafting documents, correspondence, legal policies and procedures
* Willingness to travel on occasion as needed
* Excellent presentation skills
* Excellent English skills

This is an exciting position that would suit someone who has a passion for European Employment Legislation and providing a high quality, in-house service to HRBP and Senior Management clients within a fast-paced, high performing environment. This is a regular full time position located in Stockholm. Desired start date is as soon as possible.
