What you will be a part of
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The unit Aircraft simulation within the department of Simulators, Training and Support is responsible for providing complete configurations of Aircraft simulation software, used in system development and training simulators.
Continuous update and delivery of aircraft simulations to different simulation platforms for each customer is a challenge. Configuration Management, software integration, information security, testing and communication with developers and simulator users, are some examples of the unit's tasks.
We are now looking to recruit a person to assist the CSCI function.
Your role
Within the role of assisting CSCI-manager, you will be a member of Gripen core governance team. Your tasks within this team will be Software quality, use and develop CM-tools for all versions of the aircraft simulation, troubleshooting and maintaining software for automatic build and test systems.
You will also participate in configuration control board (CCB), write course material and educate the aircraft developers and simulator users how to develop simulation models.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for a person with the following set of skills:
English language skills, preferably writing documentation in technical english.
Cognitive science skills with a focus on how information is presented, processed, and adopted.
Tools skills, meaning experience of tools for governance software systems and software (Jira, Git, Stash).
Experience in using wikis, such as Atlassian’s Confluence, for technical writing is considered an advantage.
Moreover, personal qualities and interests should include:
A genuine interest in customer and end user needs; Distributed use and development at multiple sites.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of people (mostly engineers)
Managerial skills
Ability to critically analyze information and decide which information is needed to support both aircraft and simulator developers.
Pedagogical skills to effectively educate developers in use of our handbooks
Adaptability and flexibility, meaning openness to new ideas and concepts
Professionalism and work ethic
Positive attitude and energy
An interest in computer systems
