Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter: SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: The subject concerns molecular and cell biology studies of the mechanisms of mitochondrial transcription and DNA replication in mammalian cells. JOB ASSIGNMENTS:We are seeking to recruit a junior researcher with particularly strong scientific merits and future potential. The successful candidate will primarily work with research, but will to a smaller extent also contribute to teaching of graduate and undergraduate students (no more than 10%).
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer: ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must have graduated with a PhD or attained a corresponding level of scientific competence no longer than 7 years before the application date. Individuals who graduated earlier may be eligible if there is particular reason for them to claim deductible time, such as in the event of parental leave and sickness. Reason, dates and extent must be clearly specified in the application and verified with the relevant documentation. To be eligible for a career-development position as assistant professor, a candidate must not hold, or have previously held an assistant professorship according to the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. First priority is scientific skills. Important is capacity for collaborative work. The applicant is to have conducted successful research of a high standard in recent years within the field of mitochondrial DNA replication and transcription in mammalian cells. The candidate must show great potential for continuing to do so and for establishing his/her own research line. Postdoctoral experience within the area of mitochondrial biology in mammalian cells at a research institution outside Sweden is a strong merit. The applicant is to have been published in internationally leading journals in his/her field in recent years.
