Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) serves regional and global needs by educating entrepreneurial leaders and business creators. JIBS shall be recognized as providing innovative leadership in research, education and service to society within entrepreneurship and business renewal. JIBS has about 200 employees and 2200 students, and it is one of four schools within Jönköping University.
JIBS is highly ranked in entrepreneurship research and offers a strong research environment, encouraging work over disciplinary boundaries. Over the years, JIBS has succeeded in employing internationally experienced and qualified staff with a passionate interest in their respective areas.
The Accounting and Finance department and the Economics department together seek applicants for an assistant professorship in Finance. Finance is an interdisciplinary field that covers financial economics as well as corporate finance. Finance is the internationally recognized description for the subject, which is typically also dealing with capital market theory.
WORKING TASK / QUALIFICATION
We are looking for an Assistant Professor in Finance who has the ambition and capability to:
• develop and conduct theoretically advanced teaching of high practical relevance
• design, lead and conduct research projects,
• attract external research funding,
• publish in international, high-quality journals,
• interact with stakeholders outside academia,
• contribute to building the organization by taking on the responsibility for different leadership tasks.
Applicants should have completed their PhD degree in Economics and possess a demonstrated record of scholarship and teaching in the departments? profile areas of Corporate Finance, Financial Economics and Corporate Governance. Fluency in written and spoken English is compulsory. It is our intention that the applicant shall have the potential of being evaluated for the promotion to associate professor (docent) latest after 6 years.
