The Department of Rehabilitation is responsible for educating prosthetist/orthotists, prosthetic and orthotic technicians, and occupational therapists as well as conducting research related to these fields.
The CHILD research group is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of researchers who aim to develop and apply new scientific knowledge which contributes to increased participation in everyday life for children who need extra support, ju.se/CHILD
The Department of Rehabilitation, together with the CHILD research group is looking for a dynamic individual who is interested in joining our team.
Our offer to you
This is a combined teaching and research position. Fifty-percent of the position will be dedicated to teaching subjects related to biomechanics and research methods within the prosthetics and orthotics undergraduate program. Fifty-percent will be dedicated to conducting research within the CHILD research group.
Teaching duties will include assuming responsibility for planning and administration of courses within the program.
Research duties will require the applicant to take a major role in a project which aims to explore physiological measures of engagement. A key element of this project will be exploring the use of functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) as a measure of engagement and understanding the relationship between different measures of engagement.
The position provides good opportunities for a motivated individual to gain teaching and research experience.
Your profile
For this position, it is preferred that the candidate has completed a PhD within the past 3 years, in a relevant field (Rehabilitation science, Human movement science or Biomedical engineering). The candidate should also have completed courses related to pedagogy in higher education or have a willingness to complete such courses. Furthermore, the candidate should have experience in teaching and/or supervising undergraduate students and documented competence in biomechanics of human movement. Knowledge of neuroscience and neuroimaging and/or knowledge and experience from the prosthetics and orthotics field, it is meritorious. It is also meritorious that the applicant has competence in using Matlab.
We expect that the candidate has high level of competence in spoken and written English.

Furthermore, you have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team and have the ability to adapt to dynamic working conditions. Employment
The position is a general fixed-term contract with a starting date to be agreed upon. This contract is for two calendar years. The scope of employment is full-time.
