Key Responsibilities of Assistant Financial Controller:
• Drive business development and identify business opportunities
• Strong focus on KPI 's, analyses and benchmarking
• Provides proactive administrative support to management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance
• Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of the business revenue plan, hotel and departmental budgets, and objectives programs, and manage relevant budgets appropriately
• Maximizes cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances
• Enforces, documents and establishes adequate controls for all revenues and expenses and protection of assets, and ensures controls will satisfy or improve the level of guest service
• Ensures accurate and timely monthly reporting along with interpretations, analysis and future business projections.
• Maintains accurate and timely financial and operating information
• Supports and controls the monthly closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities of the Hotel
• Conducts monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures
• Performs duties as required by the Regional Controller in respect of controls
Requirements of Assistant Financial Controller:
• An economic degree from university or similar education.
• A proven track record in a similar role within a hospitality environment and to be able to demonstrate excellent standards and team member management
• Commercially aware and a natural problem solver
• Driven and ambitious to inspire the team to consistently deliver and exceed
• Clear thinker with excellent communication abilities
• An ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Preferred knowledge of our systems: Opera, Micros and SAP-PBC.
• Strong knowledge in Office and Excel.
