Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest electricity generators and producer of heat. Our strategy is to reduce emissions with a road map aiming at achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
We are currently looking for an Asset Value Manager BA Heat
In Vattenfall Business Area Heat we operate a diverse asset portfolio for producing and distributing heat to our customers. At the core of our asset management approach, maximizing the value of our assets is a challenging task taking different maturities, technologies, and utilization into account.
Therefore, high focus is on good performance analysis, assessment of strategic fit and initiation of the right improvement initiatives. At BA Heat we follow the ISO 55001 asset management principles providing a good structure but adapting this standard to our business is key to secure good quality and low price for our heat customers.
In this context we are looking for an Asset Value Manager who will drive BA Heat towards maximizing asset value.
Your main responsibilities
Analyze the performance of our production and distribution assets; represent the performance in the context of existing performance indicators, but also adapt these performance indicators to future needs
Identify and evaluate improvement opportunities for our production and district heating assets, develop these improvement initiatives and create value by securing implementation; close cooperation with colleagues from the business units is crucial for successful improvement
Ensure that we have a consistent set of operations and maintenance as well as asset management activities, for example root cause analyses, reliability centered maintenance or maintenance revision scheduling and planning, these must fit to the maturity of our business as well as be meaningful for achieving assigned targets
Identify and assess risks of our production and district heating assets, followed by identification of mitigating activities; support in developing our overall risk strategy and management by looking for a consistent and balanced risk profile
Manage and drive forward projects, but also join projects to support the business units; these projects can be about developing our steering of investments or implementing value-based maintenance methods
Facilitate, support and shape the knowledge exchange, i.e. about district heating, production assets, maintenance and asset management related topics, across the organization
Networking and stakeholder management with internal colleagues from operational to top-management level and external stakeholders like knowledge and research institutes
Your profile
We are looking for a self-motivated person who is eager to develop and drive developments in our business. You should not be afraid to step into new topics and find a way further. Your solution-oriented mindset will support you in managing uncertainty and incomplete information. You feel well in a flexible environment and can adapt to changing situations. Important is openness with good communication skills and assertiveness. Joining a small team of asset value managers and working in an international environment (Sweden, Netherlands, UK, Germany) should motivate you.
Furthermore:
A relevant degree in engineering, for example, mechanical or electrical engineering or similar domain, a combination of business and engineering is also applicable
Project management knowledge and experience is required
At least 5 years of work experience in similar positions is required, experience in district heating business (operations, maintenance, engineering) and specifically maintenance is supportive for this position
(Technical) Knowledge about production and/or distribution assets is beneficial
Data and analysis skills are required for analyzing the performance of our assets
Experience with change management or continuous improvement projects is beneficial
Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; PowerBI knowledge is helpful
Should be fluent in English, both verbally and written, Swedish, Dutch or German beneficial

To strengthen our team in Sweden the position is preferably located in Stockholm or Uppsala, one of the Vattenfall locations, Amsterdam and Hamburg, would be possible.
