FPC seeks one or more ASIC System Integration and Analysis Engineers to help us in developing future fingerprint systems for smartphones and other mobile devices. The sensor design is a mixed-mode design in a standard CMOS process. FPC is a global leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the entire system, including advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging, algorithms and software for fingerprints including the recognition, and applications on the target devices.

 he Role

The position as ASIC System Integration and Analysis Engineer includes working close to our customers and the ASIC organization inside FPC. The position revolves around customer support which includes failure analysis, technical investigations, tuning and optimization, writing reports for documentation as well as on-site work. While on the job you will solve a wide spread of issues with varying complexity, gaining a broad system overview while still focusing on the hardware core. The work has a hands-on approach where you will communicate directly with the customer, solving issues both from the office and on-site at international customer facilities. The work includes research regarding long-term improvements for future designs as well as customer-driven investigations for current hardware.

We are working in a cross-functional team where communication is central as we are working together with FPC's local support teams positioned around the world. Our team is flexible, consisting of both senior and junior engineers as the work tasks have a wide range of complexity and concerns multiple technical aspects. We are looking for people with different backgrounds that enjoy a challenge and wants to join a dynamic team of dedicated problem solvers.

The work location will be preferred in Gothenburg as agreed between FPC and the candidate.

Potential travel can be up to approximately one week and may occur on relatively short notice. The travel might reach one week per month from time to time. On a daily basis you will need to be flexible and be able to act quickly on customers issues, delivering good service throughout the process.

Your Background

This role requires a problem solver with a relevant Master of Science in Engineering. You can be newly graduated or have several years of occupational experience of similar fields to apply for this position.

You can communicate fluently in English, written and spoken, and have the possibility to travel if necessary. Other languages that are desirable are Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Preference will be given to those who also have experience in at least some of the following areas, please name the areas in which you have experience/knowledge in your application:

• Knowledge and experience in ASIC design (Digital and Analog)
• Test and verification
• Electrical failure analysis
• Knowledge in LabView
• Programming skills
• Sensor design, especially capacitive- or image-sensors.

You need to be comfortable working in a growing company, where you will be expected to assume considerable personal responsibility for your own activities and the company's success. This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace.
