We are responsible for Axis ASIC and FPGA and the contact towards external ASIC partners and IP providers. Large and critical IPs for our application are developed in-house. The more general parts of a SoC are developed in-cooperation with external partners. We perform evaluation and are responsible of the selection of ASIC technologies, platform partners and IPs.
We have a long history of designing ASICs, the first ASIC was developed in the late 80s. We have developed a highly sophisticated ASIC development environment which is in many ways leading edge in the world. We file patents and publish papers and get invitations to present them at EDA and other conferences.
We are in the forefront of technology nodes and stretching performance and power requirements in our designs.
What you will do as a ASIC Product Manager
You will work with two main areas:
* Requirements and Compliance for SoCs under development
* Manage questions and follow up after ASIC are mass production approved
Please note this is not a position with direct reports, i.e. not a traditional manager.
The requirements and compliance work involves working with securing and tracking of requirements on our ASICs. This work is done both internally towards the internal Axis users, but also towards external vendors, such as our ASIC vendor that does parts of our SoC and manufacture the ASIC. You will work together with other ASIC systems engineers and designers, to facilitate discussions, capture requirements, drive reviews, study documentations and follow up the requirements. There might also be work towards external IP providers to capture requirements and help ASIC design and verification engineers figure out how to test the requirements properly, both pre-silicon and post-silicon.
Part of the requirements are coming from the Axis manufacturing side, such as environmental and manufacturing (like soldering and handling). You will need to interact with Axis operation and manufacturing to make sure Axis stays up to date with reasonable set of requirements in this area.
The work also includes close cooperation with both software engineers and hardware engineers. There will be some traveling needed from time to time to ASIC vendors and IP partners and close collaboration with other Axis partners.
The management of the introduced ASIC involves work with operations, the ASIC vendors, and follow up on suitability of new product introductions on existing ASICs. As well as managing the SoC until EOL is reached.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for highly motivated engineer who wants to make difference. Suitable education would be Electrical, Computer or Physics science or similar and with some working experience from setting and managing requirements.
Skills seen as a merit:
* Structured and well skilled in documentation and especially documentation of requirements
* Understanding of SoC architecture
* Understanding of what it involves making and selling an electronic product (e.g. camera)
* Good understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction
* ASIC technologies, testing, and manufacturing
* Good presentation and communication skills in English
