Axis is now looking for an ASIC Back-End and System Engineer to join our Chip Platform team within the Research & Development department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As an ASIC Back-End and System engineer you will work in a rather wide technical area. The team is responsible for ASIC system, Back-End design, selection of ASIC and IP partners. The work will include Back-End design work and responsibilities such as evaluation and configuration of IPs such as IOs, different interfaces, ASIC libraries etc.
The work also includes close cooperation with both ASIC designers and software engineers. There will be some traveling and close collaboration with partners.
We are a well-established team and in most cases we are able to adopt to personal interests.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for highly motivated engineer who wants to make difference. Suitable education would be Electrical, Computer or Physics science or similar.
Skills seen as a merit:
Programming and scripting skills
Understanding of ASIC architecture
Good at modelling and understand complex systems
Good understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction
ASIC test
ASIC manufacturing
SystemC/TLM
RTL design, Verilog and/or VHDL
Synthesis, floorplaning and timing verification
Power reduction methodologies and tools
ASIC verification

CHIP PLATFORMS TEAM
We are responsible for ASIC and FPGA design and the contact towards external ASIC partners and IP providers. Large and critical IPs for our application are developed in-house. The more general parts of a SoC is developed in-cooperation with external partners. We perform evaluation and are responsible of the selection of ASIC technologies, platform partners and IPs.
We have a long history of designing ASICs, the first ASIC was developed in the late 80s. We have developed a highly sophisticated ASIC development environment which is in many ways leading edge in the world. We file patents and publish papers and get invitations to present them at EDA and other conferences.
We are in the forefront of technology nodes and stretching performance and power requirements in our designs.
