BAT SWEDEN IS LOOKING FOR AN AREA QUALITY MANAGER

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Contributes to a high level of product quality and its improvement of BAT factories, EMs, and third-party manufacturers within the DRBU acting as the Area Quality representative, through timely information and insightful recommendations, including partnership with Product & Quality organisations for existing and new products.
Assures consolidation of quality performance data for reporting and analysis locally and in the area. Develops and champions the implementation of a Quality strategy for the Area based on Global Quality strategy, policies, common platforms, and best practices. Seeks for aligning methods and harmonising procedures according to global guidelines.
The Area Senior Quality Manager supports all product categories in operations, marketing and product functions and is responsible for highlighting, driving, and monitoring improvement activities through the efficient utilization of resources.
The role needs to work closely with many Local and Regional stakeholders in the business, as well as with the factories and third-party manufacturers within the DRBU.
The role is based in the leading factory of the DRBU and is exercised through strong influencing skills working with number of stakeholders, mainly at End Market level and a network of Quality Managers.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
AREA LEVEL:
Representative of quality function for the area and to lead an End-to-End approach assuring quality of all product categories commercialized in the DRBU are according to the consumer requirements
Facilitate and support that all factories and End Markets within the DRBU are fully compliant with BAT Quality standards, best practices, and guidelines
Lead and support delivery of Global/Regional Quality strategy deployment in the Area
Monitor key performance quality indicator, drive continuous improvements, and provide visibility to the business for all product categories commercialized within the DRBU
Maintains a close relationship with the DRBU Product team regarding all relevant aspects of Quality management and Product Maintenance
Ensure capability building across DRBU to support DRBU quality processes setup for all product categories
Identification and coaching of talents with potential to grow in the quality function

FACTORY LEVEL:
Monitor factory quality performance, driving initiatives to improve and sustain end to end quality, including supplier performance and improvements
Develop and implement: Quality best practices, common platforms, experience/knowledge sharing with other functions and factories within the DRBU and the region
Ensure accurate, relevant, and timely process and product quality information to support the decision making through the product sampling and analysis performed in the quality laboratories (physical and chemical) of the leading factory, if applicable
Ensure all processes are in place as per global standards aligned with local legislation for all product categories and action plans are defined in case is assessed to be non-compliance
Ensure the implementation of product and material improvement and innovations in accordance with global programs and right first-time strategy
Act as the local Quality Pillar led to ensure Quality Pillar execution, capability building and drive continuous improvement
Manage the Quality Department in line with the Company strategy, setting objectives and targets to direct reports and manage their performance to ensure plan targets are met and all functional tasks and projects are delivered
Effectively manage quality budgets and expenditures and ensure proper assets needs (i.e., CapEx) are considered

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Degree level in a science, applied science or engineering
Thorough knowledge of tobacco products, tobacco technology and Quality - (minimum 7-8 years)
Broad understanding of Consumer centric quality management principles and Supply chain
Broad understanding of PI&T and P&HM
Working knowledge of SPC, ISO Quality Standards, Six Sigma and CI tools
Experience in working across multiple functions/projects is preferred
Knowledge in electronics is preferred.
Strong influencing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt fast and self-develop
