Supervisory responsibility
Supervisory responsibility for manufacturing teams of 4 salaried employees and up to ~130 assembly operators.
Main aim of job
Facilitate the manufacturing team in the delivery of parts ensuring that all customer requirements are met, meeting quality, cost and delivery targets both internally and externally.
Specific duties and responsibilities (max. 10)
Build an effective manufacturing team including recruiting, training, developing and conducting performance reviews
Ensure on time customer deliveries according to customer orders in quantity and quality with efficient use of machines and employees.
Drive continuous improvements and process optimizations to constantly reduce costs and increase productivity.
Plan budgets, monitor results, formulate forecasts when required for the area
Establish and implement manufacturing targets, monitor and support individuals and the team in the achievement of targets and objectives. Ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary
Working with Customer Teams, support the effective introduction of technical changes and new production lines
Liaise with customers as required
Ensure that the manufacturing area adheres to all Brose processes and procedures
Ensure area complies with health and safety and environmental procedures and be pro-active in the development of a safe working environment
Live and use BPS and the available tools to optimize and secure production processes
Scope of authority
Fully responsible for the manufacturing area
Formal education / course of study
Degree standard in Production or Engineering discipline
Professional experience (years, function)
At least 5 years in a quality or production engineering role, plus 5 years leading a team.
Specialized knowledge and skills
Project management and implementation of new products
Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques gained within the automotive industry
Comprehensive knowledge of production planning and control
Evidence of leadership and team building skills
Good communication / inter-personal skills
Personal Profile
Leadership skills with a positive attitude. Systematic, methodical, problem solver, must be able to operate independently and make sound business decisions. Ability to gain respect from the team and to get the best performance out of individuals and the team. Experience of personnel responsibility, with a humble approach to personal and cultural differences and needs. Able to work with tight deadlines.
