Monocl is a rapidly growing SaaS company enabling life science professionals to work smarter with the right external stakeholders. They have developed Monocl EGO, a cloud-based platform designed to help users collaborate and compete smarter. Monocl EGO lets you find and engage with the right stakeholders, regardless if you are looking for scientific experts, investigators, medical institutions, customers or competitors. The platform contains millions of scientific experts and organizations, each seamlessly profiled to help you understand collaborations, research activities and financial transactions in a superior manner. Monocl EGO is empowered by a machine-learning architecture currently based on source data from research publications, clinical trials, grant funding, industry payments and more. They operate both in Sweden as well as in the US, now they are looking to expand the team at the new office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Role description
As a Senior Java Developer at Monocl Software, you will be given the opportunity to play a key role in our R&D team and in improving their SaaS platform Monocl EGO to enable long-term success. You will work tightly and systematically with their small development team to improve and expand the platform's features and capabilities. Integration of new data sources and external solutions is an important part of the job as they continuously strive to push challenging technological boundaries. Their ground-breaking architecture currently features technologies such as Neo4j, Elastic Stack and Apache Spark.
The position is based at the office in Gothenburg.
Qualifications
To take on this role we believe that you have completed your upper secondary studies from a relevant university or vocational education. You will also need to have a few years of working experience where you have had the chance to gain knowledge of building scalable applications within a modern web stack/micro service architecture, preferably from high-growth companies. It is beneficial if you have experience from machine learning, distributed computing as well as knowledge from NoSQL technologies. Monocl is working internationally which requires you to have solid writing and communication skills in English.
It is required for you to have skills in Java and Linux. Preferable skills are following:
Elastic Stack
Neo4j
Apache Spark and/or Hadoop
Amazon Web Services
