The opportunity:
The surgery service at IVC Evidensia Strömsholm Referral Small Animal Hospital is a dynamic team seeing a high volume of referral and primary emergency cases. The majority of cases are orthopedic and neurology cases. We currently have two ECVS diplomates, two residency trained surgeons and one resident working alongside several other veterinarians. We are supported by diplomates in Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging and Ophthalmology as well as nationally recognised specialists in internal medicine and cardiology. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art MRI 1.5 Tesla and CT scanner, six operating theatres, dentistry suite and endoscopy room. We have a highly competent in-house laboratory, including cytology, biochemistry, hematology, endocrinology and microbiology, in addition to running our blood bank.
The hospital runs a 24hour service with dedicated teams working nights and weekends, and specialists working daytime weekdays, mostly in surgery but also receiving surgical/orthopedic outpatients. The surgeons have an on-call backup rotation for neurology cases during daytime Saturdays and Sundays.
The hospital has its own gym, SPA area with a jacuzzi and sauna, free breakfast every Friday, fruit, coffee/tea and soft drinks daily. Or why not a well-deserved visit to our masseur?
