Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Engineer to lead and manage workplace safety efforts for our client. You will play a central role in ensuring the work environment complies with Swedish regulations, ISO standards, and the client's internal policies across two production sites in Uppland.
Key Responsibilities:
As an HSE Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the main point of contact with Arbetsmiljöverket (Swedish Work Environment Authority) during inspections and incident investigations
Serving as the liaison with Global EHS on occupational health and safety matters
Collaborating with management teams, safety groups, and employees across two factories
Communicating and following up on work environment goals and performance with safety committees and other stakeholders
Monitoring and improving workplace health and safety performance
Ensuring compliance with current occupational health and safety legislation
Managing the IKEMIA work environment system
Creating and tracking KPIs to measure safety performance
Supporting the development and follow-up of organizational safety goals
Working closely with company leadership to:
Maintain and develop the ISO 45001 management system
Ensure systematic work environment processes aligned with ISO 45001 standards
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in occupational health and safety
Proven experience working with and maintaining ISO 45001 systems
Hands-on experience leading HSE audits and compliance efforts
Experience as a superuser of incident reporting systems such as IA or equivalent
Advanced Excel skills-able to manage and analyze large data sets for trend analysis
Fluent in both Swedish and English (written and spoken)
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across functions
