Applikationsingenjör Produktkonfiguration / Product Configuration Specialist
Berg Propulsion is looking for a new Application Engineer/Product Configuration Specialist. We are seeking candidates who will be responsible for developing our sales and design automation tools. The role as a product configuration specialist is divided into two main areas of responsibilities: sales configuration and design automation, which both mean that you act as an important link between construction, sales, and production.
Sales Configuration
You are responsible for creating and maintaining our sales tool in order to optimize the design of the offered propeller system, product feature description, classification society regulations, etc. This is closely connected to the sales process: how the company offer can be improved in order to increase the competitiveness for the company and how to make sure we have the correct internal information to increase our sales.
Design Automation
The design automation role is there to make sure that we use the information from the sales process and standar dize and automate the process of creating sales, production, and purchase drawings. Therefore, experience and knowledge of CAD is beneficial.
As responsible for the program code and functionality of the design automation process, you will work in a team making sure that the systems are always updated and give the correct information.
Characteristics
As responsible for these tools, it is important that you have an engineering background with knowledge within mechanical properties and have a feeling for how mechanical systems are designed. This position includes software development and information integration between different corporate systems meaning that knowledge from system infrastructure and its interfaces are beneficial. You are a problem solver with a high ambition and drive to improve the existing sales tool and solutions.
You will be part of to the IS/IT group with sole responsibility for your areas, meaning that you are good at working independently. You are an efficient communicator since support and education of the organization will be one of your responsibilities. English is the house language and you need to be fluent, both in writing and orally.
Education/Experiences
You probably hold a university degree of M.Sc. within Construction/Automation/Information Systems Engineering with 2-3 years of experience. You have knowledge of 3D CAD-tools, Product Data Management systems, C++, and Java. Experience or knowledge of the Tacton software is beneficial since this is the software used for configuration/automation.
