hela Sverige Böhler Uddeholm Precision Strip AB is seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of 'Applications Specialist - Compressors' within Market development and Support function within the R & D Department at our production site in Munkfors, Sweden.
This position offers many challenging opportunities driven by a fast-paced product development programme and market development initiative. The candidate will hold global responsibility for technical marketing/support of existing and new valve products to Compressor OEMs.
Objective of the position:
To provide competitive advantage by leveraging your in-depth knowledge of the key elements of compressor design, with particular emphasis on the influence of the flapper valve on compressor performance.
The Role:
Undertaking business development and technical support of the new & existing valve steels by:
• Supporting local and global sales teams as application specialist for compressors.
• Building long-term relationships with customers that result in mutual benefits to both end application stakeholders & the company.
• Capturing Compressor OEMs valve material requirements and turning them into NPD proposals.
• Assisting R & D by guiding and evaluating the suitability of NPD efforts.
• Technically leading new product marketing projects for chosen markets such as compressor for white goods, automotive air-conditioning, heat pumps & relevant applications.
• Supporting customers & compressor OEMs in product approval process.
• Representing Böhler Uddeholm Precision Strip AB at compressor related technical conferences & exhibitions to increase awareness of our products to compressor designers.
• Supporting customers & compressor OEMs in product approval process.
Requirements
• Ideally, a minimum of a Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Process Engineering with specialisation in compressors design, fluid thermodynamics or similar.
• 5 to 10 years of experience of working in reciprocating compressors industry.
• Knowledge & experience of compressor such as different types of refrigeration & gas compression applications.
• Customer interface experience
• Good presentation skills
• Application & design knowledge of reed valves in the compressors.
• Experience & knowledge of compressors design, fluid dynamics and different refrigerants.
• Experience & knowledge of compressors lab tests for reliability, efficiency and life measurements.
• Knowledge of compressor design calculations & contemporary development tools such as CFF simulations.
Preferred characteristics:
• Flexible and able to work harmoniously in teams
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Proficiency in more languages (Swedish, Chinese & German) is an advantage.
• Good listener with a strategic mind-set.
Location:
Ideally in Munkfors, Sweden but with extensive International travel.
