The department for Gear Milling Solutions is now looking for a knowledgeable Application Manager who will manage the gear machining conversion from conventional gear machining into multiaxis gear machining, new technologies and software solutions related to the multiaxes machining. The preferred location for this position is Düsseldorf, Bietigheim or Kista, but other locations can be discussed.
Key performance areas
As Application Manager in Gear Milling you will drive forward the technological development by implementing new methods and ways of working. Your main task involves continuing the development of Invomilling, which is a Sandvik Coromant patented game changer in the way highly productive and accurate gears are produced. Your responsibilities also include supporting our ACs (Application Centers) and PCs (Productivity Centers) in further development work, alongside contracted partners and affiliates, such as educational institutions, DMG Mori and Klingelnberg.
You will be a part of our Gear Milling Network, including the Gear Technology Manager and Gear Application engineers and designers, as well as representatives from our ACs and PCs. This position includes some traveling: initially 100-150 days per year, later decreasing to 50-100 days.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with at least four years of engineering education, while a Master?s degree in Machining or Physics will be considered advantageous. Your knowledge of programming 5-axis machines, and multitask and machining centers is good, and you are comfortable working with both Mathlab, C++, Windows and Excel. You are, preferably, experienced in international problem solving as well as machining of components. Additionally, the social and networking character of the position requires you communicate easily, with good knowledge of English, in both writing and speaking, while skills in additional languages, such as German, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Italian and Swedish are advantageous.
