This includes fulfilment of each customer delivery project, proactive and reactive reconfiguration and customization of each system. Additional responsibilities include system implementation, onsite and local training, and customization, fulfilling the terms of each customer’s order, and support agreement. The role would also include testing of newly installed systems and making sure that the delivery has been accomplished in a qualitative manner.
The Applications Engineer should:
Implement and configure Seamless ERS 360 o system in a professional way, keeping and updating each system's workings documented and supported, and according to an analysis of customers’ business needs. This includes performing services for existing customers, identifying, reporting, and working around system bugs, and fixing miss-configurations.
Responsibilities
Manage the rollout of each new system delivery project as it comes from Sales, including unique configuration issues.
Manage the reconfiguration of each system as customer’s needs change.
Anticipate and prevent applications and systems failures.
Provide onsite training to new and upgrading customers.
Provide onsite installations testing in order to assure faultlessness of all delivered features.
Develop and master knowledge database, and feed back improvements to product development.
Prioritize fixes/work-arounds for new system versions.
Analyze frequent problems and report to development team.
Represent usability concerns in development planning.
Maintain the Delivery specification and main requirement Specification
Continuously refine and promote delivery routines and services.
Personal
May require a bachelor's degree or similar in computer science and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related technical area.
Confident with Linux system administration and networking as well as database queries and maintenance.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and independent work is required.
Enjoys handling customer requests and frequent customer contact, while multitasking large and small projects.
Professional
Mandatory:
Experience with hardware and peripheral configuration.
Experience in Operating System administration desired e.g configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security.
TCP/IP knowledge, confident with networking, switches, routers and firewalls.
Experience with Telecom system and value added services
Excellent Linux/Unix shell experience.
Experience with SS7 signaling and SIGTRAN protocol
Confident with databases; has worked in SQL with reports, backups and replication of databases. Understands query optimization and indexes.
Experience in scripting in some administrative language (Perl, a shell).
Unix text editor.
Ability to oversea travel up to 50% .
Have the experience of dealing with customer
Desirable:
Experience with MySQL is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of HTML and HTTP.
Knowledge of Java is a big plus.
Knowledge of telecom network architecture.
Ability to do minimal debugging and modifications of C programs.
Basic Oracle knowledge/experience highly appreciated.
