For our business segment Automation, we are now looking for a highly skilled and pro-active Application Specialist. Location will be Karlstad or one of our other Metso offices in Sweden.
In this role, your main focus will be to design, implement, commission, and maintain advanced control and optimization applications in paper and pulp industry, as well as supporting existing applications and their underlying infrastructure. You will be involved in the technical direction of project team leads to ensure systems are implemented to standards and delivered to client specifications.
Largely you will:
• Implement and maintain advanced control and optimization solutions to improve performance of mills in the pulp and paper industry.
• Implement web applications with relational database management system.
• With guidance from technical experts, implement business requirements into architectural designs and detailed technical designs.
• Write documentation of systems implemented. Write manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures.
• Train users to use program; oversee installation of hardware and software; provide technical assistance to program users; monitor performance of systems implemented.
• Monitor and maintain process and control performance of installed applications.
• Provide ongoing support for customers and local Metso teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have a university degree in process and / or control engineering. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of the Pulp and Paper industry. The role will require you to travel globally fairly frequently so this will have to be of interest and manageable for you.
It is also important that you are a team player with strong relationship building and communication skills. You will have a good command of Swedish and English, written and verbal.
