Lorentzen & Wettre is a world leading manufacturer of quality control and process optimization equipment in the pulp and paper industry. The unit is responsible for research and development, marketing, technical support and manufacturing. We are a team of 75 people in Kista (Sweden) and Kajaani (Finland), which allows us to act as a highly committed team focused on the importance of our business. We have four product lines in our portfolio and have ambitious growth targets for our pulp measurement product line.
Our customers are pulp and paper producers all over the world and we are regarded as a partner for them since 100 years. Our products are based on advanced measurement technology, they include mechanical and electrical design as well as embedded and internet connected software.
Tasks
As Application Engineer for Pulp measurements and Control your main responsibility will be to provide specialist technical support around our pulp and stock preparation measurement products to sales and delivery organizations. You will help analyzing customer needs, defining project scope and objectives, arrange, initiate and document customer trials in house and on site at paper mills around the world.
Your work tasks include planning and commissioning of project deliveries to meet customer targets, with performance analyses and documentation included. You document and analyze lessons learned from installations to improve and optimize deliveries. Another important task will be modelling of pulp and stock preparation processes to improve control and predicting paper properties.
Moreover, you will prepare and provide training for sales and service engineers on pulp and stock preparation applications.
In this role you work closely with product management and R&D but will interact with all parts of the organization (sales, R&D, service, production) to deliver performance to customer expectations.
The position will be located in Kista (Sweden) or Kajaani (Finland) and requires approximately 30-50 days of travel per year.
Requirements
As a foundation, you hold a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Pulp & Paper Science, Chemical Engineering or Wood and Fiber Science, and have at least 3-5 years' experience in pulp and paper industry.
Since you will be working in a global, multicultural environment, in addition to Swedish or Finnish, we expect you to be proficient in English as well, written and spoken alike.

You work in a structured and analytical way to meet deadlines and you always focus on quality. With your strong communicative and collaborative skills you build trust for long term business relationships and contribute to a great team spirit.
