hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Seamless Distribution AB i Stockholm The Applications Engineer in the Managed Operations (MOPS) department is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of already delivered Seamless ERS 360 systems on customer sites with clear purpose to ensure continuity of customer business on day to day basis.
The service portfolio covers the full scope of work from operation and maintenance, system configuration, administration, change management and problem management in accordance with predefined procedures and schedules. Apart from this, the MOPS Application Engineer is also operating as a constant bridge between the customer team and internal Seamless’ teams with mission to act as a constant listener of customer’s needs and identify possible business opportunities.
Management of the system is done remotely but depending on agreement with the customers, from time to time the role may require trips to remote locations in which way willingness to travel to distant places is a must. On the top of it, some customers require even onsite system babysitting prior, during and after the commercial launches which is also a responsibility of the MOPS department.
The Applications Engineer should:
Make sure that the system is properly configured and operates without major disturbances after the delivery is completed. Once the system is given into the responsibility of the MOPS department, he/she is obliged to monitor system on a daily basis and takes necessary actions in order to prevent any problems that may affect customer’s business. He/she needs to act as constant support by helping customer to resolve reported problems by troubleshooting and analysis of the system behaviour. Internally, he/she will need to report any found problem and try to provide necessary support to other teams in order to help them resolving it.
Personal Requirements
May require a bachelor's degree or similar in computer science and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related technical area. Confident with Linux system administration and networking as well as database queries and maintenance.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and independent work is required.
Enjoys handling customer requests and frequent customer contact.
Professional Requirements
Experience with hardware and peripheral configuration.
Experience in Operating System administration desired e.g configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security.
A decent knowledge of MySql administration is required. At least basic experience or knowledge in SS7 network is also mandatory.
TCP/IP knowledge, confident with networking, switches, routers and firewalls.
Linux/Unix shell experience.
Confident with databases; has worked in MySQL with reports, backups and replication of databases. Understands query optimization and indexes.
Experience in scripting in some administrative language (Perl, a shell).
Unix text editor.
Ability to travel to remote locations.
Desirable:
Experience with MySQL Administration is a must.
Basic knowledge of HTML and HTTP.
Knowledge of Java is a big plus.
Knowledge of telecom network architecture.
Ability to do minimal debugging and modifications of C programs.
Basic Oracle knowledge/experience highly appreciated.
