Modeling of multi-domain physical systems (plant models) such as mechanical, hydraulics or power electronics is a corner stone of model-based design. It enables our customers to simulate and optimize the behavior of their systems together with control strategies in an early stage of the development process. The physical models are also used as real-world emulators during real-time testing (Hardware-In-the-Loop).
We are now looking to expand our Nordic Application Engineering team and are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience from applications such as mechanical, hydraulics or power electronics.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the technical aspects of MathWorks sales process in cooperation with the sales organization. The focus is directed primarily at customers needing to develop physical models to test and verify control systems. As an Application Engineer at MathWorks you are responsible for typical tasks such as;
• Qualifying customers through email/phone to understand their
technical challenges and requirements
• Prepare product presentations and application examples that
address the customers specific needs
• Through visit or WebEx demonstrate the capabilities of
MathWorks solutions
• Lead technical product evaluations as proof of concept
together with customers
• Prepare and deliver seminars within the area of physical
modeling within the context of model-based design
• Provide feedback to MathWorks development team and
technical marketing regarding customer requested capabilities and industry trends
• Assist sales and marketing teams in strategic account planning
The Application Engineer's role is to use the product knowledge and industry experience to engage with customers, understand their workflow, and demonstrate or explain how software tools from MathWorks can address their needs and, in turn, improve their engineering processes. An Application Engineer at MathWorks is characterized not only by their technical know-how but also their presentation and people skills. This position is a customer-facing role where you will use your expertise in physical systems to work with new customers and existing ?power users? to assist them in the most efficient and proper use of MathWorks products within the context of model-based design of control systems.

Must-have:
• M.Sc. in engineering with a focus in one of the following
disciplines; Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent
• Knowledge/experience from building mathematical models of
a variety of physical applications
• Fluency in English
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation
skills
• Effectively communicate his/her passion for MathWorks
software to our customers
• Ability to travel max 25% of time, mainly in the Nordic countries
