MathWorks core software platforms, MATLAB and Simulink, form the foundation of an integrated model-based design environment for developing embedded control systems. Model-Based Design accelerates the development process and enables companies to deliver innovative, high-quality products to market faster.
We are now looking to expand our Nordic Application Engineering team with a customer facing role working with Model-Based Design for embedded control systems and are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience from real-time control applications.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will work directly with customers to:
1) understand their engineering challenges and
2) to help them understand how to apply our products to their
problems.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the technical aspects of MathWorks sales process, directed primarily at customers developing control systems, including embedded applications. As an Application Engineer at MathWorks you are responsible for typical tasks such as;
• Qualifying customers through email/phone to understand their
technical challenges
• Prepare presentations and examples that address the
customer challenges
• Through visit or WebEx demonstrate the capabilities of
MathWorks solutions
• Lead technical evaluations as proof of concept together with
customers
• Prepare and deliver seminars within the area of Model-Based
Design for embedded control systems
• Provide feedback to MathWorks development team and
technical marketing regarding customer requested capabilities
and industry trends
• Assist sales and marketing teams in strategic account
planning
The Application Engineer's role is to use the product knowledge and industry experience to engage with customers, understand their workflow, and demonstrate or explain how software tools from MathWorks can solve their problems and, in turn, improve their engineering processes. An Application Engineer at MathWorks is characterized not only by their technical know-how but also their presentation and people skills.

Must-have:
• M.Sc. in engineering with a focus in one of the following
disciplines; Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Experience with designing control systems in industry
• 2+ years experience with embedded control software
development
• Experience with at least one or more of the following
languages: C/C++, PLC
• Fluency in English is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation
skills
• Ability to travel max 25% of time, mainly in the Nordic countries
Nice to have:
• Working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink or similar tools
• Experience working in a customer-oriented role
• Experience in the Aerospace, Automotive, Automation or
relevant industries
• Fluency in at least one Nordic language
