One of the doers we are looking for is an Application Engineer for Design and Planning to join our Applied Application Center. In this position, you are based in our brand-new office at Regeringsgatan, in the heart of Stockholm, and you work together with a dynamic team and in close cooperation with our customers all over the world.
Job Summary
As Application Engineer for Design and Planning, you operate as a central hub in the intersection of UX, engineering and product development. With extensive knowledge of machining, you support both internal and external tech centers with applied digital solutions; developing an agile collaboration environment within Sandvik globally.
Your responsibilities
• Working seamlessly with teams inside CODE to deliver commercial products, from prototype to finalized solution
• Applying CAD/CAM engineering principles and practices to digital auxiliary tools
• Supporting a motivated multi-geography team to develop cutting edge prototyping solutions to target manufacturing pain points
• Building a customized Design and Planning environment at the Applied Application Center; showcasing the value of digital innovations and demonstrating end-to-end best practices for IT and OT in manufacturing environments
• Forming dynamic teams through engaging competences in existing Productivity and Application centers to serve different customers and industries
• Working closely with production sites to promote digital transformation
• Developing tools for design and planning; enabling embedded solutions to connected machines
• Engaging in digital machining activities with CAD/CAM and CNC-control suppliers and other industrial partners
Your skills and qualifications
You have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in CAD, CAM, CAPP and CMM, and a deep understanding of machining, CNC programming and digital systems (MTConnect, DMDII, CAM and equivalent). Since we act on a global scale, you have fluent skills in both written and verbal English. Other required skills and qualifications are:
• Cooperation skills across cultural and geographical borders, and with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience from defining, monitoring and driving improvements to key product success metrics and from communicating these to the broader organization
• The ability to communicate complex information in a concise and straightforward manner
• The ability to create technical material to enable structured documentation and knowledge sharing
• A genuine interest in interacting with and championing, customers and key users internally
Bonus skills and experiences:
• Canned Cycles
• CAM simulation and optimization
• Robot programming
