About the job
Currently Volvo IT needs to strengthen the team of skilled personnel with focus on integration and industrial IT solutions. IDC (Integration Delivery Center) is a global functional team, within the Volvo IT organization, with responsibility for all integration deliveries for entire Volvo Group. As an Application Developer within IDC you will work in a global team where the core competence is integration. There is high focus on re-usability both in methods, tools, processes, competence as well as in the actual integrations.
Qualifications and skills required
• Sound knowledge of Java and basic programming skills in Java
• Knowledge in working with XML
• More than three years of IT experience – preferably in Message Integration
• Understanding of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Topologies
• Sound problem solving / troubleshooting skills
• Sound programming skills (good logic and fair exposure to popular algorithms)
• Fair knowledge of Integration life cycle & methodology
• Fair knowledge of Integration Patterns
• Exposure to at least one Version Control tool (SVN/CVS/VSS)
• Background in WebSphere development or similar
Desirable skills
EAI Expertise:
• Knowledge of EAI stack (all the layers)
• Fair knowledge of Standards in EAI
• Exposure to different flavors of Integration
• Experience in working with complex XML Schemas, such as OAGIS, PLM Services, STAR etc.
WebSphere Message Broker:
• Thorough knowledge of all Nodes in Message Flow development environment and their usage
• Excellent skills in MQ, MRM & JCN development and Pub-Sub
• Sound knowledge of communication protocols/methods supported/adapted by WMB (Http, FTP, Web Services etc.)
• Clear understanding of transactional (local and global)
• Excellent understanding of broker run time components (Flow instances, Execution Groups, Dictionary, etc.)
• Excellent understanding of WMB development best practices
• Moderate skills on managing WMB runtime components
Generic skills:
• Sound knowledge of testing techniques and practices as Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated tests
• Clear understanding of roles (i.e. what to expect from a module lead, tech lead, project lead, team lead, architect, etc.)
• Sound communication and documenting skills
• Good team worker used to collaboration
Experience profile:
• Skilled on WebSphere Message Broker (Either experienced or trained – IBM Certification would be an added advantage)
• Excellent skills of WMQ (either experienced or trained)
