The group Diesel Combustion & Engine out Emissions work with calibration and development of functionality for the Engine Management System (EMS). The group is responsible for Combustion Control of all engine running modes such as normal mode operation, SCR heating, DPF regeneration, LNT regeneration and Torque Models to fulfill emissions, fuel consumption and performance.
Your challenge as a Application and Function development Engineer is to develop technical solutions that will have a great impact on how the customer experiences the car and its drivability. You will work in cross functional teams with other groups and EMS-suppliers. Your technical competence, as well as your ability to manage projects, should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions. Your mindset should be analytic and with an aim of finding solutions.
Main responsibilities
• Calibration to optimise the Engine Management System (EMS) Diesel
• Responsible for part of the development of Software functionality for the Engine Management System (EMS)
• Develop methods and tools for the calibration work
• Function development and problem solving
• Participate in cross functional teams with for example: Engine Engineering, Vehicle
Engineering and Powertrain Installation
• Develop strategies to meet future emission legislation with SCR systems
• Calibration and function development for combustion control, emissions and heat control of exhaust after treatment systems DOC/LNT/SCR
• Plan and execute engine tests in engine dyno, vehicle dyno and participate during vehicle expeditions to find relevant climates and altitudes
Required qualifications
• B.Sc or M.Sc in Engineering, applied physics or engineer with long experience from the area mentioned above
• Experience from working with combustion engines
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• Drivers license (B) is a requirement due to actual field expeditions in Sweden and abroad
• Meritorious is experience from software development, embedded systems in particular
• Meritorious is also experience from different software such as: INCA, Matlab, Simulink, PUMA test cells, CAMEO or ASCMO

• A big interest in engines and mechanics
• Curious with a very good analytical ability
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A doer with focus on delivery
