Managers, Design Studio Engineering & Design Quality
Studio Engineers and Product Design Quality Specialists, are an active link between design, engineering and manufacturing departments, providing support to the design departments with technical expertise securing that the technical solutions are maximized to meet Design intention and to deliver to top quality.
We have teams supporting within the areas:
Interior form, Exterior form, Color & Material and Design Quality.
The role as a Manager for a Studio Engineering and Design Quality team is broad and includes managerial and strategic work responsibilities.
As manager for a Studio Engineering group it is your responsibility to:
- Lead and develop the employees.
- Allocate resources within the area of responsibility.
- Secure competence and work processes within the area of responsibility.
- Report to and be a part of Studio Engineering management team.
- Actively seek and maintain contacts with consulting companies.
- Create and keep a budget for the group.
- Implement strategies, operational targets and plans for the group and its employees.
Qualifications and Personal attributes
- B.Sc. or equivalent based on experience.
- Demonstrated and relevant experience from Interior, Exterior, Design Quality or Color & Material development.
- Experience from Product development and a good overall automotive engineering understanding.
- A strong interest in Creative Automotive and/or Product Design.
- Very good people management skills to be able to build, lead and manage a well-working team of 10-25 people.
- Capability to create well-being and motivate people.
- Ability to build and maintain a well working network.
- Experience from working in a global environment/organization.
- Fully proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture is meritorious.
As a manager for Studio Engineering and Design Quality, you are expected to have a mindset to always strive for the best possible product. You are determined to find the best solution to meet the Design intention and enjoy working in a creative and dynamic environment. This requires a high level of flexibility, engagement, integrity & cross functional cooperation skills. As the main part of the development is made in close co-operation with China engineering, at least 2-3 travels per year will be needed for you to be able to support your team members.
