Publiceringsdatum2019-04-10Om tjänstenThe position will be based within the Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) department at AstraZeneca Gothenburg, Sweden which supports all in vivo studies in partnership with diverse multi-disciplinary teams across the company.The functional department - Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) delivers internal in vivo studies, breeding of transgenic mouse strains, daily animal care welfare.
Dina arbetsuppgifter i huvudsak
In the role of Animal Technician, you will:
• Be responsible for the care and welfare of laboratory animals and routine facility operations tasks and the delivery of high-quality laboratory animals for scientific experimentation
• Work as part of a team and capable of working flexibly across different areas
• Participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Standard (GLS)
Vem är du?
Essential Requirements:
• Animal technology qualification or relevant experience (Preferably D9 certificate)
• Experience in working with laboratory rodents and strong interest in animal care and welfare
• Ability to perform work independently and consistently to the required standard on a consistent basis
• Understand principles and concepts associated with Laboratory Animal Science particularly on animal welfare and the 3Rs
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English/Swedish
Desirable Requirements:
• Work experience in AAALAC-accredited animal facilities
• Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical Industry
• Membership in relevant professional body
• D9 certificate desirable
• Experience with husbandry of dogs and pigs desirable
