Main Duties and Responsibilities
The functional department - Animal Sciences and Technologies delivers internal in vivo studies, breeding of transgenic mouse strains, daily animal care welfare. In the role of Animal Technician, you will:
* Be responsible for the care and welfare of laboratory animals and routine facility operations tasks and the delivery of high quality laboratory animals for scientific experimentation
* Work as part of a team and capable of working flexibly across different areas
* Participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support
* Ensure that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Standard (GLS)
Essential Requirements
* Experience in working with laboratory animals and strong interest in animal care and welfare;
* Ability to perform work independently and consistently to the required standard on a consistent basis;
* Understand principles and concepts associated with Laboratory Animal Science particularly on animal welfare and the 3Rs;
* Good communication skills in English/Swedish;
Desirable Requirements
* Veterinary nurse education or similar experience;
* Work experience in AAALAC-accredited animal facilities;
* Previous experience working in animal research/pharma industry;
