As our quest to democratise financial services continues at blazing speed, our POS Alliance is on the lookout for an inspiring Android Lead Developer with a great deal of expertise and a truly Agile mindset to join a crowd of bright people driven by a shared ambition to create hassle-free solutions for small businesses.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact on Zettle Go, the App that empowers sellers to start, run and grow their business. From accepting any type of payment to tracking sales, Zettle Go turns their phone or tablet into a complete mobile POS system and register. Easy, Isn't it?
A glimpse of what you will do here
As one of the senior individual contributors to Zettle Go you will work as a technical leader addressing multiple cross functional teams that together build and improve on the Zettle Go experience.
You will provide support and guidance for current and future initiatives, including hand-on support for key projects, while also collaborating with mobile engineers across the organisation to promote sound engineering practices for sustainable product development.
Through this collaboration you will regularly assess the technical state in teams for the platform you're responsible for and help engineers plan and execute on technical roadmaps. You will share collected input for technical strategy with the alliance tech leads and support them in driving work on that strategy across your domain in the alliance.
In this spirit, your day-to-day responsibilities as Android Lead Developer will essentially consist in:
Embedding in teams for a short period to accelerate delivery of key projects.
Pairing with Android engineers regularly to help them and get a better understanding of technical challenges.
Acting as a bridge in the Android domain between POS and the other alliances to establish good relationship and collaboration with internal stakeholders related to Mobile development.
Identifying opportunities and suggest solutions that can be consistently applied throughout the teams in the alliance to holistically improve the mobile user experience.
Suggesting and helping introduce new mobile engineering practices / tools to reduce bottlenecks, improve developer speed and long-term solutions sustainability. This work will be done in cooperation with our Apps Platform team that you will have a close working relationship with.
Communicating chapter decisions and guidelines in both directions.
Partaking in Tech Leads meetings to better understand and influence the technical focus and needs of the alliance.
Mentoring other engineers to support them in their career growth.
Sharing learnings with broader audience (cross-alliance) and encourage others to do so.
The skills you need to succeed
Significant software development, Android development experience.
Experience in leading technical initiatives spanning multiple teams.
