We at the Search team, focus on enhancing our users' communication experience by providing them with the most relevant identity information and state-of-the-art spam protection. Our mission is to identify the person/ company calling before the user picks up the call, identify spammers, block unwanted calls, and provide more information about the number that is calling
As Search Android Lead you will guide a team of Android engineers; you will be in charge of architecture, design and implementation of Truecaller Search frontend technology, and you will be responsible to ensure that it meets business and technical requirements.
What do we expect from you
3+ years of experience working as an Android Lead/ Architect
Deep understanding of Kotlin/Java
Hands-on experience with MVP/MVVM architecture patterns and unit tests
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, and code reviewing tools such as Gerrit
Strong knowledge of Dependency injection libraries such as Dagger
Experience with networking tools: REST, grPC
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Good interpersonal skills
What will you work on
Work closely with product managers and senior stakeholders, understand business requirements and translate these into technical requirements for the engineering team
Plan and document technical specifications for features or system designs
Design and build applications to meet business requirements while maintaining long-term sustainability
Direct the development team in the designing, development, testing, debugging, and maintaining modules
Write testable, scalable, and efficient code and lead code reviews
Mentor team members to follow best engineering practices and ensure their work adheres to agreed software quality standards
Detect and drive technical debt and refactoring exercises, when necessary
Sharing best practices and detecting design/ architectural issues in advance
It would be great if you also have
Experience in working with Agile methodologies
Experience working with complex and custom view components
Experience with analytics, Data Studio w/ BigQuery & Hive, Firebase
Familiarity with tools like Jira and Trello
