About the role & the team
As our Android Engineer, you will be working with our new, customer facing Android App. The app helps our customers to optimize their energy consumption, as well as contribute to a more sustainable world!
Our Android App is built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose and connects to a backend owned by the App team. The app is using the latest and greatest framework from Google, with a minimum version requirement that is currently Android 10.
You will be working closely with our Product Manager, Android Staff Engineer and the rest of the app team consisting of a designer and engineers specialized in iOS and Backend development. You will collaborate with the team to define and implement solutions from our roadmap. Discover more about the team by listening to this interview.
We follow a collaboration-first policy, working three days a week from our Alvik office.
Your key responsibilities:
Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to define application requirements and specifications.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices and design patterns.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
Stay up-to-date with the latest development trends, tools, and technologies, and evaluate their applicability to our projects.
Contribute to documentation and provide insights on application architecture and design choices

Are fluent in English - our organizational language.
Has at least 3 years of professional experience working with Kotlin and a strong passion for the Android development ecosystem
You know how to write readable, idiomatic, and maintainable Kotlin and are willing to follow already defined coding guidelines and workflows.
You have released at least one app on the Google Play store or have a project in the works that you can tell us about.
