Do you have an education in Chemistry or Pharmaceutics? Are you experienced in HPLC and/or UPLC technique? Then we at Adecco Life Science are looking for you! One of our customers in the pharmaceutical industry, AstraZeneca, is now looking for Analytical Chemists. The positions are full-time consulting assignments placed at AstraZeneca's research site at Mölndal, Göteborg. Preferable start date is as soon as possible and the assignment will initially continue until June 2015. 

AstraZeneca is currently making large investments to increase their research capability in Inhaled Pharmaceuticals, inMölndal,Sweden. They are investing in new equipment, new technologies and more people. They look for people with knowledge in various skills relevant for inhaled drug delivery, such as formulation science, analytical chemistry, solid state properties, device development and biopharmaceutical sciences.

AstraZeneca Mölndal is one of AstraZeneca's three core sites for drug research, with about 2.500 employees at site. At Product Development,Sweden, a sub-division of Pharmaceutical Development, they focus on the fields of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases and on Respiratory, Inflammatory and Autoimmune Diseases. Within Product Development Inhalation they have an exciting pipeline, consisting of both new molecules and new devices. The unit currently comprises 80 people, dedicated to research and development for new inhaled drug products.

Description of assignment

Your job is to be a part of technical cross functional project teams, working on new inhaled formulations. Characterize formulations using impactor analysis, e.g. Next Generation Impactor (NGI), Fast Screening Impactor (FSI), Andersen Cascade Impactor (ACI) and laser diffraction methods. You will develop and utilize LC methods for quantification. Asses, record & report data, and also draw authoritative conclusions and make recommendations.

Qualifications

You have a degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics or other relevant education.

You are experienced in applying HPLC and/or UPLC technique.

Experience of inhaled drug delivery is a great advantage, though not a requirement.
