For the department Product Development at AstraZeneca we are now looking for an Analytical or Physical Chemist with solid state experience. The consultant assignment will start in November and go on until 2016-12-31 with possibility for extension.

Publiceringsdatum2015-10-01Dina arbetsuppgifterProduct Development is looking for an enthusiastic Analytical or physical Chemist/Scientist in Material Science/Solid State analysis who, will provide input in the area of material characterization and understanding during the formulation development of oral drug products.
The role is primarily laboratory based, where a combination of theoretical and technical expertise in material science is a must together with a good understanding of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes.
Examples of skills of importance for the role are the following:
• Solid state properties
• Choice of solid state form
• Phase transitions of drug substance
• Formulation stability and processability
• Techniques to characterize drug substances e.g.XRPD, DSC, GVS, TGA
• Vibrational spectroscopy
• Salt- and polymorph screening
• Crystallization process development
• Excipients and the solid state of excipients used for pharmaceuticals.
• Imaging techniques, eg SEM and optical microscopy
• Powders
• Analysis techniques for determining physical properties
• Particle size
• Particle size distribution, shape, density
• Powder rheology
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of the scientific area via material science/solid state networks. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative and motivated Material Science/Solid state expert to join the Product Development team in Mölndal.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You have a MSc graduates from pharmaceutics, chemistry or physics or engineers with relevant skills. Experience of laboratory work is a requirement. You have a strong team working and networking skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline environment and ability to demonstrate drive and energy to deliver results and projects. You are flexible and able to respond to changing business needs.
