For the department Product Development at AstraZeneca we are now looking for an Analytical or Materials Science Chemist with formulation experience. The consultant assignment will start in November and go on until 2016-12-31 with possibility for extension.

Publiceringsdatum2015-10-05Dina arbetsuppgifterThe department Product Development at AstraZeneca is looking for an enthusiastic consultant in the field of Material Science who, will provide input in the area of material characterization and understanding during the formulation development of oral drug products.
The role is primarily laboratory based, where a combination of theoretical and technical expertise in material science is a must together with a good understanding of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes.
You will be working with:
• formulation
• powders
• analysis techniques for determining physical properties
• particle size
• particle size distribution, shape and density
• powder rheology
• imaging techniques
• SEM and optical microscopy
• excipients used for pharmaceutical development
• solid state properties
• associated phase transitions of API and exipients
• formulation stability and processability
• techniques to characterize formulation e.g. DSC, GVS, TGA
• vibrational spectroscopy
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of the scientific area via material science networks. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative and motivated Material Science expert to join the Product Development team.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You have a MSc graduates from pharmaceutics, chemistry or physics or engineers with relevant skills. Experience of laboratory work is a requirement. You have a strong team working and networking skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline environment and ability to demonstrate drive and energy to deliver results and projects. You are flexible and able to respond to changing business needs.
