Biotage in Lund is looking for an experienced and multi-skilled Analytical Chemist to join our Research & Development Team.
Analytical Chemist
You will work as part of a team performing analytical / preparative separation and method development of typical small organic molecules from a range of different matrixes. Biotage do characterisation of materials using modern analytical techniques and you conduct analytical work in custom projects and provide detailed reports to tight time lines. The team support early research projects with feasibility studies using a range of analytical techniques and support chemistry with accurate analytical data during product development. These projects are presented both internally and externally for customers.
You also develop application data for marketing support of the product lines.
Key responsibilities:
To carry out method development and characterisation of separation materials for use in analytical, preparative, process scale and quality control applications.
To perform above key job functions and produce clear accurate reports to tight deadlines
To conduct projects within agreed budget scope
Representation of company at conferences or at customer visits
Project leadership for internal and external projects
Adhere to guidelines and produce appropriate documentation for internal and external scrutiny
Job requirements:
Must have minimum 2 years of up-to-date practical hands-on experience in a laboratory in an industrial setting
Practical experience in analytical instrumentation: LC, HPLC, GC, IR, etc.
Practical experience in purification or extraction techniques: LC, SPE, LLE, etc
Proven track record of resolution of technical and chemical issues
In-depth knowledge in LC-MS with good triple quad knowledge
Experience of analysis using a range of biological matrices
Knowledge of quality systems and working in a regulated environment
Good proficiency with common software (MS Office, databases, etc.)
Experience of an ISO/GMP/GLP environment - used to diligent documentation (ISO)
A minimum education at B.Sc. level in analytical chemistry
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in practical analytical chemistry
Proven track and success record in publications or posters, product developments and method developments.
Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
In order to be successful you should have good communication skills, be a team player with proven collaboration track record in cross functional teams. You also have the ability to work alone if required. You are used to perform in a busy work environment and under pressure with deadlines. You are service-minded, willing to support our synthetic and polymer chemists with new analytical concepts.
