Analyst Fuel Economy

The Department Environment and Fluid Dynamics Centre is responsible for the Core Value Environment at Volvo cars R&D and has about 100 employees. This responsibility including following 6 attributes; Fuel Economy, Environmental, Weight Management, Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics and Contamination. Section Fuel Economy Strategy and Requirement deliveries range from cycle plan input, technical input into development of next generation's CO2 simulation platform and CO2 fleet impact analysis. The section works closely together with the project Fuel Economy group responsible for CO2 program implementation as well as with powertrain, electrical, chassis, attribute areas aero and weight, product planning and market organisation.

As Analyst Fuel Economy you will be involved in the team's responsibilities legal requirement analysis e.g. Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedures, monitor the market and Volvo car competition with respect to CO2. Perform gap analysis and find solutions for closing any future gap. You will also be involved in different projects to identify solution to decrease CO2. Today we focus on HEV-and BEV-vehicles - What can we do more to decrease CO2.

Main responsibilities

• Support the team with analyses, data management, and simulations
• Identify market changes about new energy solutions and powertrains
• Support our Technical Leader in the strategical work
• Participating in different projects with purpose to decrease CO2

Required qualifications

• At least MSc in a relevant area
• Good programming competence
• Good knowledge of basic physics
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Basic knowledge of computer modelling
• Experience using programs MATLAB, SIMULINK, MS Office

• Creative and curious, but also thorough
• An analytical mindset
• Highly motivated and interested in the bigger picture, as well as looking forward to working in a stimulating, efficient and friendly team
• Good communication and presentation skills
