Role description

As a creative and skilled Analyst within the Air Suspension team you are Volvos GTTs innovation foundation.
By sharing your knowledge and providing exceptional customer service you will contribute to our end-customer's needs and assist Volvo in maintaining strong relationships with our customers. You will be a big part of our success.
You will be part of a dynamic team with unique individuals who are dedicated to delivering safe and assured experiences and products for our customers in a timely manner.
We as a team are responsible for development of front and rear air suspensions, single axle suspensions and complete bogie systems, and we develop the future technologies and solutions for all brands within the truck group.
The team is involved in complete vehicle projects, component projects and advanced engineering research within the group's area.

This is what you will do

Your undertaking with key technology solutions will create long-term relationships with both our customers and suppliers built on trust and engagement. Within your area of responsibility, you are expected to be involved in the design work, proactively influence the product design, ensue and utilize the admitted work processes and of course ensure a good product quality. You are also expected to maintain a good collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Production, Purchasing, Aftermarket, Project management, and many more.
We believe you have high knowledge in dealing with design and development problems and strong intuitive and analytic ability to resolve problem issues.
As the rest of the team, you should have an open, flexible, and positive attitude. You are target oriented and able to work with limited supervision. Together with good ability to communicate and to work with people at different level, the network is broad both inside and outside the company.

Who are you?

We believe that to be successful in this position you should have a background in product development within the area of stress simulations, fatigue and durability analysis of vehicle suspensions and steering systems. Proficiency in using software's like Altair Hyperworks, Abaqus and Nastran is essential. Knowledge and experience of other simulation and optimization software's is an advantage.
A strong foundation in suspension geometry and an understanding of load paths, vehicle behavior and handling dynamics are key attributes for success in this position.
We expect you to work closely together with the Design Engineers and taking an active part of developing the best Heavy-Duty suspension in the world.
Experience in executing prototype builds at the vehicle level is a preferred, showing your practical skills. Additionally, practical experience gained from workshops, is highly valued, contributing a hands-on dimension.
You are expected to bring expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and design practices that align with principles of sustainability, circular economy, and recycling. This commitment to environmentally conscious design underscores the holistic approach expected in this role.
In terms of project management, you should demonstrate experience in agile product development methodologies and proficiency in using the JIRA.
In summary, you will possess a well-rounded background, combining technical proficiency with practical experience and a dedication to sustainable design principles.

Profile & qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• Several years of experience in product development, strength-, fatigue- and durability analysis.
• Experience from the automotive industry.
• Good knowledge in pre- and post-processing software's as Altair Hyperworks and Beta CAE.
• Good knowledge in solvers like Abaqus, Nastran or nCode DesignLife.
• Good knowledge in English, both written and spoken is essential.
• Knowledge and experience of software's like Optistruct and Magma Soft are an advantage.
