The section Powertrain NVH & Performance and Drivability is part of the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) and Performance and Drivability (P&D) competence centre within Product Development and Quality at Volvo Car Group. The Centre has the responsibility to ensure that the attribute Noise and Vibration and Performance and Drivability are supported in the vehicle programmes, both in terms of customer and legal requirements and their attribute balance. Within the PT NVH & P&D section we have the responsibility for engine and driveline and their integration in the vehicle, in car and engine programmes with regard to our attributes. The team works integrated in all project phases, from AE to vehicle/engine production start, and field and quality issues, contributing with analysis and guidelines to improve the attributes in our cars.
The main responsibilities of PT NVH integration group is to deliver a vehicle or platform which has balanced sound/vibration/sound quality through testing and analysis of engines, transmissions, drivelines and their integration in the complete vehicle. PT NVH Integration works integrated in all project phases, contributing with analysis, targets, strategies and guidelines to improve the sound and vibration attributes in our cars. The team has state-of-the-art equipment, engine and chassis dynamometers. We have extensive communication with other internal design areas, suppliers and our development center in Shanghai.
As an Analysis Engineer NVH you will be a part of the team to strengthen the deliverables and development of the next generation of engines, drivelines and vehicles.
Main responsibilities
* Perform NVH vehicle and powertrain measurements and analyses on test track or in engine and vehicle test cells
* Instrument and prepare engines with transducers
* Perform analysis of measured data and propose solutions and counter-measures
* Participate in implementation of solutions in the vehicle/engine/driveline
* Participate in the development of improved or new methods and guidelines
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. or equivalent work experience
* Mechanical Engineering, Technical Acoustics, Engineering Physics or similar
* Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience
* Driver's license
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Knowledge of Müller-BBM PAK is meritorious
