Analysis engineer for SRS and Driver assist - 2 positions

The section Low Speed Manoeuvring and SRS, Analyse and Verification is a part of Volvo Cars Active Safety department, which drives the development of the Volvo core value - Safety. We are responsible for analyse and verification of several different areas such as parking manoeuvring, parking cameras, automatic parking, BLIS (blind spot information system) and SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). We test both on bench, rig and cars and we are heading towards verifications through simulations and CAE. Our daily work is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments such as the Active Safety CAE group, electrical, interior/exterior, ergonomics as well as external suppliers.

As Analysis engineer for SRD and Driver assist you will perform verification and virtual test simulations within our areas. Different technical solutions are evaluated to secure that the vehicles meet our high safety standards. This is a cross functional role and you are also going to have regular contact with engineers from technical areas and the product development departments.

Main responsibilities
• Prepare and perform the sensor, system and function testing
• Responsible for developing new test methods
• Analyse test results and communicate it to involved parties
• Participate in field expeditions where the sensors system and functions are tested in different environments

Required qualifications
• M.Sc or B.Sc in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics
• Experience from Matlab and Simulink
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• PhD in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics is meritorious
• An asset would be years of experience within automotive
• Meritorious is programming languages such as C++, .Net and Java
• Former experience from working with the areas; sensor development, radar antenna or image processing is meritorious

• Ability to independently develop, plan, conduct and follow up work towards objectives
• Strong communication skills as well as a positive mindset and a networking personality
