The group Attribute Fuel Economy have the responsibility to ensure the right fuel economy values for all Volvo Car Group's vehicles for the right cost and time. We are dedicated to develop and improve the CO2 attribute area and our work stretches across R&D - from energy efficiency, energy need to energy sources. We are working in all vehicle programs to ensure the right target setting for future vehicle programs and to fulfill all legal requirements and market needs and at the same time to have good quality of current production. Our aim is to reduce lead time by increase our possibility to do more and more verification of our products by simulations.

As Analysis Engineer Fuel Economy you will work in the Coast Down Team, delivering road load curves that are the base for all fuel economy, emission testing and verification in laboratory. Volvo are investing heavily in CO2 and emission reducing technology and therefor it is crucial that we do the right analysis before we decide the introduction of new technology. You will work to ensure that the cars still will be competitive regarding fuel economy when implementing new legislation such as WLTP.

Main responsibilities

• Analysing, calculating and reporting of prognosis road loads in vehicle projects
• Planning, execution and reporting of verification tests in wind tunnel, at our proving ground or during our expeditions
• Ensure viability of test vehicle status prior to tests
• Analyse test results and deliver recommendations to project leadership
• A speaking partner to other department in coast down questions
• Read and understand the consequence from new legal requirements and implement those in new processes
• Developing and implementing new working procedures.

Required qualifications

• B.Sc Engineering
• Skilled PC user and large experience in MS Office
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver's license B
• Experience of working with technical development is meritorious
• Experience of working with technical analysis is meritorious
• Experience of working with CAE is meritorious
