The section Driver Assistance and Active Safety Function A&V is a part of Volvo Car Group Vehicle Dynamics and Active Safety Center, which drives the development of the Volvo core value - Safety. We are responsible for analysis and verification of Volvo Car Group's Driver Support and Active Safety functionality and the attribute Driver Assistance. The Section is responsible for A&V during all phases of the product development. From advanced engineering, concept development to industrialisation and quality issues. Approximately 85% of all the functionality is developed from the start by Volvo Car Group and there is a large focus and attention on our deliveries. We work very close with the design department in teams where each team focuses on related functions. The section consists of 18 persons and has a positive and engaging culture.

As an Analysis engineer you will perform virtual and physical testing through CAE and testing in vehicle. The activities require a close, analytical and cross-functional cooperation in the development team. Other than one or more analysis engineers the development team consists of a function owner and one or more function developers. During work daily contact exist with close areas as Electrical, brake, HMI, project office department.

Main responsibilities

• Test and verification with CAE and testing in virtual and physical environments
• Designing test methods, virtual and physical
• Input to the design of verification equipment
• Analysis of function requirements, customer requirements and benchmark of competitors
• Analysis and verification of concepts
• Take part in function requirement design and the cascading of these to sub-function, system and component
• Plan and participate in field expeditions where the functions, sensors and systems are tested in different environments
• Contact with internal and external suppliers

Required qualifications

• M.Sc within System Controls, Mechatronics, Automation, Vehicle dynamics or equivalent
• Knowledge/experience in/from function testing, analysis and verification
• Experience in function development, verification methods and tools
• Experience in relevant CAE/simulation and Matlab
• Experience from distributed and embedded systems
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Diver's license (B-level)
• ISO 26262 knowledge is meritorious
• An asset would be years of experience within automotive

• Ability to independently develop, plan, conduct and follow up work towards objectives
• Strong communication skills as well as a positive mindset and a networking personality
