For upcoming and current needs, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
ALTEN's subsidiary XDIN is looking to expand the team that supports product development for several of our automotive customers. In the role you will provide design engineering support for multiple complex components and systems including both interior, exterior and BIW/CIW. Most of the openings will be based in Greensboro, NC. But there is also opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA and Los Angeles, CA. Some of the responsibilities that comes with the role is to initiate and develop design concepts to meet cost objectives, schedule, quality and feature requirements. You must know how to design and create drawings and 3D CAD parts via solid and surface modeling. Furthermore, you should have the ability to evaluates existing and new designs for compliance to internal and external standards. You are responsible for Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly and Design for Maintainability. Last but not least, you need to interface with vendors and suppliers to anchor designs and you possess the ability to work cross-functional coordination with counterparts in other departments and/or suppliers to facilitate and meet project time plans.
Necessary experience:
• Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-5 Years In Product Design Engineering
• Experience in transportation related industry preferred
• CATIA V5/V6
• Plastic and sheet metal components design experience
• Manufacturing process knowledge (injection molding, stamping, extrusion, casting, etc.)
