What you will be a part of
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The Aeronautical Engineering and Weapons development area has about 140 employees within the following departments:
Aerodynamics
Flight Mechanics and Flight Performance
Propulsion integration
Flight Control System
Aeronautical Weapon Integration
Weapon System Integration
The Flight Mechanics and Performance department is responsible for flight mechanical simulation models and analysis of aero vehicles within Aeronautics, store combination clearance and flight mechanical integration of external stores and flight performance calculation tools and analysis. We are working with different Gripen projects, future aircraft design, Saab 340 / Saab 2000 and Special Mission aircraft.
Your role
Flight Mechanics and Performance department currently have a vacancy for a curious, passionate and result focused engineer to be a part of our team.
You will:
• participate in all phases of the aircraft development process, from the conceptual design to flight test.- contribute to the design, maintenance and development of the performance calculations tools, both military and civil Aircraft.- develop our flight mechanical simulation models, which are used in flight simulators or as support in flight testing.- perform flight dynamics analysis and aircraft performance analysis.- be involved in both future projects and further development of existing Aircraft.- support marketing department in order to help the sales process of Gripen or Special Mission aircraft.- work with the complete aircraft which means you will be in contact with many departments within Saab.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a colleague who:
• have 4-6 years experience in flight performance and/or flight mechanics.- are eager to get a wide experience within aeronautical engineering and want to contribute to our way forward.- have engineering degree or equivalent.- have a high interest in Aviation.- have software development skills.
Applicants must be Swedish citizens in order to be considered for employment. You must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance - as a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and successfully demonstrate eligibility to receive applicable Government security clearance(s).
