Technical Specialist Air Conditioning System

Climate System Department is responsible for all climate development within Volvo Car Corporation, e. g. heating, ventilation, AC systems, controls and attributes. Climate system department is part of Body&Trim unit within Volvo Car's Research and Development (R&D) division. Currently we are around 70 people divided into 4 groups. This position is within the A/C & AUX heater systems group.

We are within the A/C & AUX Heater Systems Group today about 15 colleagues divided into two main teams, A/C systems and AUX heater systems. We are of different ages, backgrounds and experiences with open discussions and good fellowship among the teams. As a Technical Specialist Air Conditioning System you will support needs/means processes and initiate product planning dialogue. You will be responsible to educate employees in Air conditioning related areas/functions and you will be a "go-to person" for the engineers working in early phases with Air conditioning development. You will also define need of benchmark and business intelligence, organizing internal technical seminars and similar. Within your responsibility field you will also represent climate and/or Volvo in different discussions held in-house or at different external seminars regarding Air Conditioning related technology.

Main responsibilities

• Define/initiate Air Conditioning, mission/vision/strategies development
• Advances engineering (AW)
• Annual work and operational development needs
• Participate and support ongoing and future externally co-financed project
• Supervise and support doctorate programs
• Support press events and interviews
• Represent Volvo Car Group in SAE and ACEA dialogues and meetings
• Support governmental affairs in legal issues

Required qualifications

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, meritorious MSc in Mechanical Engineering
• MSc in Electrical and/or Chemistry Engineering is meritorious
• More than 7 years of experience from Air Conditioning
• Excellent system function, attribute and cost knowledge from Air Conditioning area
• Experience from all development phases, from Advances Engineering to running change
• Automotive experience
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
