Avalanche Studios is looking for an AI Programmer to join our QA team for an upcoming title. Work side by side with developers to create AI Bots and other automated test support via AI. This role will require taking abstract ideas and translating them into practical solutions. You will join the Avalanche engineers in developing and maintaining our proprietary Apex Engine. The AI Programmer will balance functional requirements with technical requirements in the areas of performance, stability, memory usage, interoperability.
Required Qualifications
A passion for creating AI
Experience with different AI architectures and techniques e.g behavior trees and pathfinding
Able to write readable, robust, and performant code in C++ and Golan
A good understanding of all aspects of game programming in multiplayer games
Prior experience working as a programmer on at least one shipped title on current-gen consoles from start to finish
Desired Qualifications
Experience of navmesh generation, and working with pathfinding, navigation and steering
Understanding of vehicle AI and control
Familiarity with HavokAI and game physics
Has worked with profiling and optimization
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
