Who is your future team?
We are seeking a skilled AI Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for supporting Axis' generative AI initiative through advanced search solutions and data processing. Our team consists of experienced software engineers, and this area is strategically important for Axis, offering significant development potential moving forward. Our company operates in an expansive market where innovation and strategic decision-making are key. Our team is dedicated to creating optimal solutions for information retrieval and data consumption. This data is primarily used to enhance our generative AI models and services.
What will you do here as an AI Engineer?
As an AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced search and retrieval systems that leverage retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to solve complex information access challenges. Your tasks will include optimizing search algorithms, implementing efficient indexing techniques, and collaborating with software engineers, customers, and business stakeholders to deliver AI search solutions that provide significant value to the organization and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* RAG System Research and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of advanced retrieval systems, optimizing RAG solutions across the entire value chain, from embedding or model fine-tuning to retrieval optimization with custom algorithms.
* Search Algorithm Optimization: Develop and refine search algorithms, including semantic search and multi-modal search techniques, to improve retrieval performance and relevance ranking.
* Data Processing and Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to extract, transport, transform, and store data from various sources, ensuring the data is optimized for AI-powered search and retrieval systems.
* Query Understanding and Processing: Design and implement advanced query processing pipelines, including query expansion, intent recognition, and contextual interpretation to enhance search precision.
* Information Retrieval Model Development: Create and fine-tune machine learning models specifically for information retrieval tasks, such as document ranking and query-document relevance scoring.
* Performance Evaluation and Metrics: Establish comprehensive evaluation frameworks for search and RAG systems, including relevance assessments and user satisfaction metrics to continually improve system performance.
Who are we looking for?
You are an AI enthusiast who takes responsibility for your own tasks while maintaining a big-picture perspective. You are curious, eager to learn, and appreciate the importance of networking with others inside and outside your team to achieve efficient working methods. You are open to learning new things and enjoy sharing knowledge with others.
We love for you to have:
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience with Python and working in a Linux development environment.
* Strong understanding of large-scale information retrieval systems and RAG architectures.
* Experience with data processing and storage technologies.
* Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
* Knowledge of data architecture and data collection strategies.
Additional Skills that are valuable:
* Understanding of AI/ML concepts and data requirements for generative AI models.
* Experience working with cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure.
* Knowledge of data security and privacy principles.
