The International School of Helsingborg was established in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels. Today, we have approximately 820 students between 3 and 19 years of age attending our Early Years School, Primary School, Middle School and Diploma Programme with International Baccalaureate. Our teachers come from about 30 different countries all over the world, and the same goes for our students.
Our programmes offer an alternative for international families who are residing in the Helsingborg region on a temporary basis, or for those moving overseas. Our MYP (Middle Year Program) and DP (Diploma Program) are located in a separate building and provide an excellent choice for all students, Swedish or International, looking to further their studies abroad or in Sweden once they graduate. The aim of our school is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

As an after-school care (fritids) teacher, your role will be to organize and monitor activities for the students, ages 6 - 11 in the fritids program. You will work with a team of after-school care teachers and will be expected to interact with the students in a caring manner. You will be expected to lead a group of students with positive behavior management techniques. You will be expected to work together in a team with the fritids colleagues in order to plan engaging activities for the students. The hours vary on a daily basis approximately between 07:00 and 18:00 each day.
The position entails 100%, and includes supporting students and teachers in the regular classroom during the school day in addition to after-school activities. We are looking for someone who works well in a team. You are positive, open minded and flexible. When working with the students, you are firm, but kind. You take the time to get to know the students and speak with them, creating relationships with them. You take initiative within organizing activities and helping to make fritids a place where students enjoy attending.
Qualifications
A degree or certificate within the field of after-school care (fritidspedagog) and/or a degree in primary education is required.
The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience from working with groups of kids in the ages 6-11 in an after school care or classroom setting.
The primary language of the school is English. Therefore, it is critical and required that any candidates are able to read, write and speak in English fluently.
