In 2013 our Founder was awarded a Fellowship with the Shuttleworth Foundation to work on this full time, and in 2014 we were a finalist of Tech All Stars - making us one of the 12 best young European startups.
We believe that getting credit for the work you do, and the work you share with others, is critical in today's society: it helps build reputation, connections and value. For anyone publishing photographs online -- professionals and amateurs alike -- being able to convey more information about each photograph: where it was taken, who's featured in it, who authored it, or just the story behind it, is important for conveying the meaning of each photograph.
Despite that such information, even if it's included when first published, is routinely lost when photographs change hands on the Internet, we've come up with a way that helps retain such information regardless of where a photograph comes from or where it's going. We firmly believe that the way we think about and value photographs online will change if we're given easy access to more information about each photograph we encounter while we're browsing the Internet.
== About The Role
We're looking for in a business developer to fill the gap that exists between our founders idealistic pursuit of social change and the downright technical part of our development team. We know that change only comes gradually over many years, and we need to sustain our activities for a long time to be effective. We need someone who can:
• Identify and explore business opportunities and collaborations
• Do market research and estimates to fuel our internal discussions
• Take a leading role on fleshing out and developing business models & revenue streams
• Actively test those models and revenue streams to help us find the right mix
• Help set the priorities and the pace for our development to match what we can (and should!) offer
• Find their way in other organisations and help others relate to our work
• Lead our marketing efforts and outreach activities
We have a vision, a development team, but we're looking for someone with a keen business sense to step in to really take charge of the process of bringing our technology to market (and identify which market that is, and what technology we offer when and where). A successful candidate will be able to progress rapidly within the organisation, including joining our management team and taking a leading role as a key building block of our business.
The position is full-time and can be based anywhere in the world, with a slight preference for Europe and India, as areas and countries where we have most of our traction at the moment. Candidates should be willing and comfortable to work from their home or a co-working facility in their area.
== About The Candidate
We're looking for someone who ideally has experience from bringing web services to the market, as a business developer, an executive, entrepreneur, or within marketing and sales. The candidate we're looking for would ideally be able to see themselves committed not only to the job, but the vision that we're aiming for, and we're offering (and encouraging!) share options to enable the right person an opportunity to not only be an employee but a co-owner.
